Santander Bank send 1/2 a $BILLION International Transfers via Ripple

In 2018 Santander Banking group, the 16th largest banking institution started to offer an app based on Ripple’s blockchain Onepayfx). As of July 2020 their clients have now transferred overseas over half a $billion using the app. Thye use the payment messaging system built on the blockchain as opposed to the XRP token, but it surely is a resounding vote of confidence in the technology. Santander, executive chairman Ana Botín announced that half of the bank’s annual international transfers can now be handled by the Ripple app.

Although known for its European banking operations, it has extended operations across North and South America, and more recently in continental Asia.

In May 2016, Santander was ranked as 37th in the Forbes Global 2000 list of the world’s biggest public companies. Santander is Spain’s largest bank.

As of 2017, Santander was the 4th largest bank in Europe with approximately US$1.4 trillion in total assets-under-management (AUM). Traded on the Euro Stoxx 50 stock market index, the bank has a total market capitalization of $31.71 billion.
